Does anyone know if they will make a astra coupe in the next couple years. My wife is leasing a 2007 ION quad coupe. She loves it. But she don't like the Astra Hatchback (well any hacthback). She don't know what to get when her lease is up.

The Twintop is a coupe but it's unlikely they will offer it in the US unless sales of the Astra really picks up.

I am trying to remove the my 18" chrome wheels (factory) on my 08 Astra XR. How do you get the plastic caps off around the lug nuts? The lug wrench does not fit over them.
Also I wanted to put on different rims and snow tires for winter. I notice the factory chrome rims, and spare all protrude outward, I imagine because of the large calipers. Does anyone know if a standard rim will fit with the large calipers?
Thanks.

The lug caps don't rotate off at all. They basically just slide on/off. People have used different tools/methods for taking them off (search the forum) but as along as you can get a good grip on that lip that they have, just pull straight back on them and they will come right off.

The Astra is more fun to drive, handles better, easier to park. But expensive for what it has and low gas mileage for a 4 cylinder. The Vue has great gas mileage for an SUV. One of the best. It is more practical and more comfortable.

I bought one a few years ago. Had low low miles and I got it dirt cheap. Sold it because it did not get the mpg that such a little slow under 3,000 lb. car should get. My ION 2.4L gets better gas mileage, not to mention it blows it away 0-60, 30-70, and in the 1/4 mile. Oh and the ION stops in a shorter distance. The Astra as brought to the U.S. was a disappointment for me.

No 2009 U.S. Astra for a reason......2010 U.S. Astra nope not in 2010 either.

Me too, the Ion is f-ugly compared to the Astra - no thank you. Have you seen many around any more either...the ones I do see prove they don't age well, look like beater cars.

Skeptical about the mileage claims too. Fueleconomy.gov shows Astra gets better mileage in every engine category. 2.4L ION engine mentioned also recommends that the owner use premium gas$$$. Regular non redline engine pretty much the same as Astra in terms of 0-60 and quartermile times (perhaps a bit slower).

lol they could always choose not to eat that day and take a big poop before driving. that should save on another 2 ish lbs. maybe not wear any clothes, those things are heavy. spare tire, ehh who uses it anyways. or you could only fill up to half way that should save roughly 40 lbs.
