Default Smug pump - Saturn SL2 2001

The service engine light will not go away, i scanned the car and come up that the "Smug pump" is bad.
look everywhere and i only see the part in ebay but i am not sure if it is the right part
Where in the car is the smug pump located?
where can buy one now in day?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

The only thing worse than a smug pump is a damn cocky one.

To the OP, it's a SMOG pump. Unless it's being cheeky.

I took the car to the mechanic and now we have a dilemma "to fix or not to fix":
motor mounts need to be replace
rear sway bar end link need to be replace
Total of $1200
plus we have a Code P0410 that still needs to be T/S and fix

Not sure what to do i am heart broken i love my Saturn (111K M).

You need to find a better mechanic.

You have a couple hundred in parts - and 3 hours or so labor.

Try posting here for someone in your area who would be willing to help you or someone who knows of a Saturn savvy mechanic in your area.

All of those repairs are straight forward and you can find how-to vids on YouTube. I certainly wouldn't condemn the car based on just that.

^ ^ ^ agreed, finding someone local to show you things is best, if you are not comfortable with DIY

But its not hard to get started on your own, if you have a place to work. Can you turn a screwdriver? If yes, then you can also turn a wrench. A basic metric socket set and ratchet is all you will need for most repairs on the Saturn. For a few hundred dollars or less, you can buy a floor jack and tools for almost anything you will need to repair.

Why? Excess vibrations, clunking, etc.? Top motor mount is $22 plus shipping at rockauto

you heard it clunking? If yes, you need to remove two nuts/bolts, and that is all it takes. Current cost for premium MOOG K90520 end links is $5.22 each plus shipping
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...375017&jsn=760

So, two links and a top mount is about $30, plus maybe $10~20 shipping. More if one of the other 3 motor mounts need replacing, but that is pretty unlikely since we have not heard symptoms.

richpin does a thorough job, as always, on his videos. But some of the stuff might be in the "I don't want to try that" area for some folks.

When I fixed my P0410, I did a slightly different order, don't recall exactly what it was (might have the info at home). You can do just the parts that you feel comfortable with.

You can remove and clean out that silver pipe (IIRC, it's just 4 x 10 mm nuts) and a few other areas with just that and a cheap can of carb cleaner.
