Default What did you do to your VUE today ?

The other sites I view have this and it seems to do pretty good. I don't see one here so let's get it going.

So, what did you do to your VUE today. Add pics if you can

Well, actually this was two weeks ago.... I did oil change and trans drain and fill... Also rotated the tires and pulled right front apart just to make sure the salt didn't lock up everything.... man... it is amazing the amount of corrosion that was all over everything.... I gotta get the bottom of this thing seriously pressure washed.... SOON!!!
Once I get the cash for them, I have to get two more tires... then the new tires go on... will post pics of them on once I get them.... These are going to be my new standards I think... an aggressive SUV all season... should cover me for weather here in RI and back home in WV for the snow next winter.

Replaced the timing belt at 82k due to a lazy moving timing belt tensioner. The AC Delco timing belt kit on Amazon is a solid kit for $150. Also found out what was causing some unwanted drivetrain noise/vibrations. The torque strut mount was shot. The center bolt was close to freeing itself from the rubber mount.

2006 VUE 3.5L
Heart Re: What did you do to your VUE today ?

Here in the hot lands of Albuquerque, I'm suffering dearly in trying to get maintenance done on her. Just moved from sunny San Diego, to the desert lands. Been to four mech's about a vacuum leak and can't seem to find anything honest or professional.

I did change my oil today, spiffed up the tires and kissed her goodnight.

Default Re: What did you do to your VUE today ?

I just installed a new driver's side front door skin! (Due to long story involving young lady on cell phone - new round-about still under construction and that BIG FAT BLINDSPOT.) BTW - the front-lowest corner screw was so 'not wanting to turn' that the panel broke off with the clip-nut still attached. :-(

And then - because I dared to try my power window again - I had to find out why the motor worked fine when run with my battery charger but not when I used the switch.
I had not tried the window from a month before (Nov.) the 'incident' to now (April) - so I don't know for sure it wasn't due to the hit, but all the other wires were OK.
I strongly suspect the cause had something to do with lots of door openings when the temp was -20 F.
It was just the fat Brown-n-Blue wires that looked like this...
????????????
Aw shucks, you don't get to see where the wire broke - not enough posts yet.
Well, if you could see it you'd see that the blue wire got to relieve stress at three places.
I'm guessing the brown wire got stressed out at just the one place - and could'nt handle that. :-)

SO... if your power window suddenly stops working - here's a clue.

2004 VUE 2.2L
Default Re: What did you do to your VUE today ?

My 04 Vue (155k - 70k on engine) was pulling to the left slightly. Also felt like front brakes may be dragging slightly. Gas mileage also seemed to drop a bit so I pulled the front brake calipers and cleaned/lubed the caliper slide pins. Pads looked great but definately needed the pins cleaned/lubed. Put it back together and noticed a difference in the way she rolls down the road.

Still have the slight pull to the left. Tires appear to be wearing evenly so am going to check the alignment the 'old school way' this morning...
