Wrench Vue keeps going to limp mode

I just bought a 2005 Saturn Vue and have been searching for a solution to why it keeps going into limp mode. It's intermintet and it's everyday all day long. Sometimes I start it and it will go a few miles and sometimes it does it right away. There has been a water leak in it I found but don't know if that the cause or not. The codes that come up are p2176 and p2101. And on live data the reader says shrtft is 0 Lyft is -0.8, IAT 105 and tp% is 38.4. 02b1 is 4.50 and o2bs is 0.00 does that make sense to anyone

1-What condition was this Vue in when bought? Any maintenance history?

2-Many use the term limp mode from misinformation. Vehicles with specific programming related to its EFI system, in particular drive by wire systems incorporating an electric servo motor driven throttle, electronic pedal and ecm will display an error message or lighted symbol when one of the three components falter. Reduced power mode is GMs term. With electronically controlled throttle driven by the ecm and not the driver pressing on a (hard wire throttle cable connecting) pedal to throttle, a pair of position sensors reside in throttle and pedal for direct feedback to the ecm. If one of these four position sensors become faulty, the ecm program detects it and invokes reduce power mode; engine power is reduced to around 15%, enough to drive off to the side of the road to make the emergency call. The general term, limp home mode, allows driving but at reduced power. Either an indicator 'Reduced Power' or an engine symbol with a large down arrow flashes to tell the driver of electronically reduced power mode.

Do you have an indicator of reduced power mode or not? Review your owner's manual to find the reduced power mode indicator.

The ECM monitors the actual throttle blade position using throttle position (TP) sensor 1 and 2. If the ECM cannot detect the minimum throttle position, DTC P2176 sets.
Inspect and clean the throttle body.
Inspect for anything that may keep the throttle vane open.

The throttle vane spring loaded to a slightly open position at idle.
Move the throttle blade by hand with the key OFF to check for any binding and to make sure there is spring pressure on the throttle blade. Check the electrical connector at the throttle body as well.
Clear the codes. If the codes return, it's likely the throttle body will need to be replaced.

Here is a good video explanation of how the throttle body works.

Code P2101 is also related the performance of the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC)

So it took me a bit to come up with the money but I replaced the throttle body and it did not fix the problem

And yes. The check engine light will come on when I start the car and the reduced power mode kick in after about three or four miles and won't go off as long as the engine is warm .once it has sat a while it will go back off on it's own and then back on after I drive it. Every time

P1516 SATURN - Throttle Actuator Control Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance

Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/p1516_saturn.html

Did you perform a throttle recalibration procedure? When throttle, pedal or ecm are replaced, a throttle recalibration is required to synchronize all three components otherwise errors may occur.

Throttle recalibration have been posted many times within these forums for drive by wire systems. Simply turn on ignition, leave the pedal alone and do not start the engine. When 30 seconds passes, the ecm detects the lack of starting and pedal movement and enters a calibration program. The ecm begins commanding throttle movement, heard as a quiet humming sound powering up the servo motor, into several positions before returning to a startup setting. All occurring in less than a minute. Afterwards, throttle stops movement, ending calibration mode. Cycle the ignition switch off then try starting up. Throttle calibration should erase this error code. Whether reduced power mode returns or goes away is unknown.

Are the symptoms and codes exactly the same after changing the throttle body? Are you using a scanner that can read current, pending and history codes? Are you reading codes while the reduced engine power message is displayed?
Since you replaced the throttle body you may need to try going through Procedure 4, Throttle/Idle Learn noted in this link.
https://www.autocodes.com/uploads/gmc/throttle_body.pdf

The throttle pedal inside the Vue is another piece of the electronic fly by wire system, although your codes were not for it. Might still be part of the problem.

Faulty ECM has been associated with this type of issue too.
It might be worth a try to reseat the connector on the ECM and checking the ground in case it's corroded.
