Default security light?

found a seller with 03 v6 w/80k miles he says it has a security light issue and will randomly go into limp mode. i read many threads on limp mode and throttle issues with broken wire causes but am not familiar with a security light leading to limp mode. is this a different issue or the security system shutting down the vue? or do i need to see if it has codes first?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
