![]() Got some cross-drilled/slotted rotors installed today. Here's a couple of "after" pics:
I traded in my 2006 VUE a couple of Sundays ago, and "upgraded" the muffler last week, and this week it's the rotors. Not sure what else I'll do it between now and Christmas, but if it's worthy of a pic or two, I'll post 'em. Enjoy! ... ![]() Looks racy. Although I know that drilled and slotted rotors don't do much for brake performance, I like the look none the less.

![]() well they do in fact let out hot gas between the pads & rotor that tends to wedge them apart at high temps, there will be an improvement on a nascar, but for street driving there won't be any difference...

![]() I like to think of myself as more of a "form follows function" type of guy, thus my reasoning behind getting these rotors, as opposed to something like chrome wheels or a body kit. Most of the motorcycles I've owned since the early 80's have had cross-drilled brake rotors, so at least on a motorcycle, they're definitely functional. And with certain "high end" cars like Ferraris, Porsches, and Corvettes using cross-drilled rotors, I'm figuring they must have some functionality on 4-wheeled street vehicles as well.
I know perfectly well the Sky doesn't have the performance level of these cars, but at least these rotors give it a more racy look, and I'm hoping will add some degree of braking performance as well. It'll certainly set it apart from S2000s, Miatas, Solstices, Crossfires, and even other Skys. And man, I'm loving that Sky shape! You know that one Cadillac CTS commercial, where the woman driver asks, "when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" Oh yeah, it's getting there for sure! ... ![]() I was convinced that I really needed the sliced and diced rotors on my Camaro, so I spent a Saturday and a couple of hundred bucks and installed a set. They seemed OK, until the I brake hard, then I feel every one of those holes in the rotor. Perhaps the slotted part of the equation is good, but the drilled holes, for streets, is merely eye candy with no appreciable benefit. When the pads wear out, the slotted/drilled rotors go to the garbage.
