1992 SL
Default Parting Out 1992 SL/Whole Car for Parts

OK boys and girls I couldn't get it to run. I've tried adjusting the timing twice and it still won't turn over so it's time to go.

Here's what is new on it:

Crank
All internal bearings
Timing Chain and pulleys
Alternator
Clutch Kit and Throw Out bearing
All motor gaskets have been replaced (And I mean all of them) 8-)

Here is what we have done to it:

Head was reconditioned
Intake and Exhaust manilfolds cleaned
Throttle body cleaned

So as you can see we did almost a complete rebuild.

Other newer parts on the car:

Tires have less than 5K on them
Battery is only 4 Months old
Plugs are 1 month old
Plug wires are 4 months old

The Alpine Stereo and Infinity speakers do not go with
the car. I will replace the stereo with stock one, but
their will be no speakers in it.

I would like to get $700 for the entire car. It is located
in Dayton, OH if you would like to see it. Inspections are
encouraged as I do not want to rip anyone off.

I will also part out if I don't get a taker for the whole car.

Thanks everyone for looking and to all the people on here
who gave me the heads up on things and the help. Greatly
appreciated.

The Beer Man

How much for the front struts and the wheel covers and the trim around the radio (the whole part that goes around the radio/ac controls/vents plus the vents)?

Trying to think of other parts I could use.

Could you take pictures of the rest of the interior and the trunk? If not, that's ok.

I also have a problem with my trunk (inside release doesn't work, could you get the cable out of yours for me)?

Thanks again.
Mike

Wouldn't want plugs and wires to go to waste, I need those as well. I think my wires are original (180,000 miles). Plugs are past due as well.

Lastly, how about your ECTS (is it newer metal one)?

I'm too lazy to go to the dealership. LOL

Plus you want to get rid of stuff.

Dizzy Re: Parting Out 1992 SL/Whole Car for Parts

Funny, I was just thinking that I'd like to locate a parts car. I have a 1992 SL1, and it's a really good runner, which I bought for $500.00, but I'd like to have parts for it.

If only you were in Kingston, NY I might take it off of your hands for something a lot more reasonable than $800.00.

If you are parting it out then I have quite a few parts that I'm in the market for and your car would be a perfect match.....

So let's keep in touch.

my email is: tgparker@worldnet.att.net

or call me at 845-338-0758

All the best,

Tony

It looks like the AC was converted from R-12 to R-134a.

The car looks great. It would be a shame to see it get parted out...

I'm not sure what kind of wrenching abilities are available to you, but if possible then I may be interested to know what you might want for the entire right (passenger side) rear suspension assembly.
