Ownership experience
We bought our RL in Feb of '04. Now has 35k miles. Had it to dealer twice for RDM, once for the suspension recall. I meant to take it in for steering column clunking over bumbs but warranty is gone now. I had to buy 2 Khumos (245/50-18's) because of a flat. They have been good. Still have the original Bridges on the back. They are almost worn out. Just changed the tranny oil - had a lot of metal on the mag plug. I wish I knew if this was normal. I've never seen another car with a mag plug in the (tranny) drain pan. I work on airplanes for a living and if I found that much metal on a mag plug it might be a gearbox or engine change. I haven't had any wheel bearing or roll bar link issues yet but I guess I can expect them soon. Overall a good suv but I believe the new one is designed much better and will feel more solid (too bad it's so heavy). My '95 Nissan pickup with 180k miles feels more solid going over chatter bumps!
