Hello all im back and i got a new ride. My old car was an 04 2.2 Quadcoupe. My new car is an 04 Redline that I bought for 2k with 169k. Currently fighting a Passlock issue with the car but still a nice car and im happy with my purchase

Funny: what I see being built today and all the smack talk when the ION came out about how awful it looked I have to laugh.

The more I see coming out of the industry the better my 05 ION 1 4 door looks.

And with the polymer and a little care, still looks as fresh a late model monster.

well its been a little over a year and i figure its time for an update. i have done so much with the car

first of all i got the PassLock issue fixed by replacing the ignition switch replaced with an OEM recall part and so far everything has been good (knock on wood)

next i had the clutch replaced with the unit i received with the cars purchase. which everything was apart it was recommended to have the cradle refinished as it was looking kinda crusty so i went ahead and did that too

i replaced the headlights with smoked headlights and replaced various missing badges on the exterior then replaced the hood due to a huge rust hole next to the Saturn badge

i removed the aftercooler tee reservoir and replaced the whole system with a Cobra aftercooler expansion tank

i focused on performance next by putting a ZZP stage 2 kit on
#60 injectors
stage 2 belt
2.5 downpipe
tuned ECM
3.0 pulley

the car already had a strut tower brace, aluminum control arms, rear sway bar, and MagnaFlow exhaust

i had to replace the blower because the coating on the blades was pretty much gone and were covered with an oily residue. im thinking something like blowby inside the engine is the culprit because the intake manifold walls were coated as well. maybe sometime this year ill tear apart and see. car still has alot of power and still builds 15psi of boost and engine still sounds healthy so IDK

i just installed an Aeroforce Interceptor gauge along with a dual gauge pillar pod and was hunting for actual Redline floor mats. they are harder to find then i thought so for now i settled for Cobalt mats as the still fit perfectly and im on the look out

currently the car is parked as im not driving her in the snow but im looking forward to the warmer weather with her

I have an 06 Ion Redline, thinking of doing the same mods as you, ie, 3.0 pulley, bigger injectors and a tune.

Did you notice your mpg's go down a lot after modding? I hear that fuel prices will probably go up this year, and I drive quite far during the summer...

There hasn't been any noticable changes if any it's been very little I was daily driving her all last year like this

yes. this is my first boosted car so i was pretty surprised with the power stock but a buddy of mine drove the car as we were trying to diagnose a clutch problem and he showed me what the car is really capable of

that car is a blast to drive. definitely do the mod. did you do anything else like option B?

No option B yet, but the car has a Magnaflow cat back and a 3 inch intake from ZZP. Does option B help with cooling, or is it more for increasing coolant capacity and make bleeding easier?
