Search 'bong" on this forum. It doesn't do anything for performance, either negative or positive, though. No air passes through it so it doesn't restrict air flow. Really. Look for yourself and apply some reason to the question. Removing it only makes the air intake louder, which gives you the impression of improved performance. In reality, you'll pick up just as much performance by driving with your glovebox open.

Now that depends, if your windows are open or not...

Dyno and 1/4 miles times on Mustangs with the same thing saw improvments. The AIR that goes into the silencer doesn't get to the engine....think about it...

2008 AURA XE
Default Re: vue resonator delete

Try a K&N filter. It is less resistance than the stock unit. Good for increased lower rpm throttle response and some mpg (seeing about 1.5 mpg on my 2.4L Aura so far). I have K&N's on all my cars. Only about $60 delivered off e-Bay. It will pay for itself quickly and will last the life of your vehicle with regular washing and re-oiling (make sure you get the K&N cleaning and oiling "recharging" kit at the same time as you get your filter). The K&N filter will NOT effect your warranty, and will filter as well as the stock filter - just less restrictive.
Here is the link to K&N for the tech information and part selection: http://www.knfilters.com/
Here is a link for the 2008 Vue 33-2404 (fits all engines): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-A...Q5fAccessories
And the recharge kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-R...Q5fAccessories
