2006 VUE 2.2L
Default Resetting "Change Oil" Light?

I tried posting this in an older thread, but the thread was too old, so I am starting this topic again.

I have a 2006 Vue. I just had the oil changed and the diagram equivalent of "check oil" (which for this Vue is a wrench and oil can) still goes on. One mechanic stated that the person who did the work probably forgot to reset. It was the end of the day, so the mechanic tried a few things (from the Ion printout on how to reset the light). They didn't work. I tried too with no success. And oddly enough, the Vue manual doesn't state how to do this (unless I'm just missing it). The manual does state that the Saturn dealer knows how to reset...

So does anyone know how to resent the oil light on a 2006 Saturn Vue?

Thanks!

Turn the key to "RUN" not "START" press the gas pedal to the floor, and back 3 times. The light should flash, then go out. Start the engine to make sure.

Doc, it's definitely in the manual, as Uzzy describes.

The mechanic - at a Saturn dealer, no less - forgot to reset mine, and I had to follow the same procedure.

You also have to press that pedal 3 times within 5 seconds or it wont reset.
Just did mine yesterday.

Page 5-20 in my '06 manual.
Look for "Oil, engine Oil Life System" in the index at the back of the manual to find that section of the manual.

I don't have my manual in front of me, but mine tells me I have to do something with the fuses under the hood. It's been 5 -6 months since the only time I've done it so I don't remember if I had to pull one for a few seconds or push a button or something.

Maybe on an '02, but no on the newer ones.
