Default Stop the Blinking Coolant level light!

The light on the dashboard keeps blinking, even though there is plenty of coolant. The cap is new, and I changed the ECTS for another problem. Does anyone know how to stop the *&^% thing from blinking??

If you are SURE your coolant level is correct, just let it bink.

My saturn's light didn't stop blinking until 600+miles later.

I had the same problem. It was a bad sensor in the coolant recovery tank. To rid myself of the annoying flashing light, I disconnected the sensor and shorted the connector. Flashing went away. Although, beware that if the car does develop a condition that causes coolant level to decrease (like a leak or head gasket going), you might not discover it until it is too late. Lately, I ended up buying a used recovery tank with sensor from a Saturn technician for $20. A new one is $48. You can probably also pick one up from junk yard, but stay away from a car with a blown head gaskets (oil in tank).

Hope that helps...

Just wanted to make sure that the level in the tank is above the "seam" that runs around the middle of the tank. though this is the official level line, I always fill an s-series about half an inch above. that way the light doesn't come on for a long time.

Mine has been blinking for the last 22k miles. Where exactly is the sensor? I'd love to short the damn thing out, gets really annoying. Coolant has always been to the full mark and the car runs perfectly cool.

You have to take the reservoir out to disconnect the sensor which is on the bottom, at least I had to. While you are at it, you might consider thoroughly cleaning and rinsing out the reservoir. Doing so might free up the sensor, so that it reads properly. Give it a shot. I had to remove the windshield washer reservoir and two coolant hoses first.
