The Mazda5 is a mini-minivan about the size of a VUE. Rumors also say that the Opel Zafira mini-minivan could come to the US as a Saturn too.

While, at first, I thought it was a Durango, I work with cars enough to know better. Its fine, but the main thing I dislike, as well as my wife is the name....

Lambda - not only does that make me think of Revenge of the Geeks, but Lambda isn't a word, its an acronym:

Legacy Archive for Microwave Background Data Analysis
Large-Aperture Marine Basic Data Array
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts

Either way, I probably wouldn't buy it. I'm looking at buying an ION Redline when I get back from Germany - need to upgrade my SC2 at some point. My wife, yea... She gets a tax free Mercedes...sigh

Hmm - I'll shut up and go to the corner now. But Outlook, other than the email security implications, sounds better ;-) (I'm a geek, what do you expect...)

1) The Vue is not getting replaced, this Lambda-based vehicle will be the Vue's big brother.

2) This is NOT an SUV. It is a crossover. Meaning that it is an SUV-like vehicle based on a unibody car platform.

3) Who said it has a V8? It may have an optional V8, but certainly not standard. It will be FWD or AWD and will be likely be very economical in terms of fuel.

GM has several of these crossovers coming to market, this is obviously one of them. They are not trucks, if they were they would not be sitting on a unibody, car-like platform.

Photoshop? Are you talking about the spy shots on the first page? That looks like a legit spy shot to me; what makes you say it is a photochop?

Maybe they just don't understand the concept behind "spy shots" and "masking"?

Looks about like a TrailBlazer, to me, in size and shape. I like the looks of the TB, but it's a truck at heart, and not very efficient, and is certainly an SUV. I think we'll have to just be patient on this one and see what is really in the works. I think it's good to see Saturn getting a full lineup of models that can compete on its own against other GM brands as well as all the other competitors. Saturn was a one-horse buggy for over ten years. They finally broke out of that, and now they're getting exciting new models and I think it's great. Hopefully this new crossover/mid-size will be consistent with the Saturn values we all have come to be so fond of - safety, economy, reliability, yet still have an exciting, attractive interior and exterior.

A V-8 can be fuel efficient if the vehicle is aerodynamic. A friend of mine has a 2002 Corvette with the LS-1 engine and on a trip from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire he averaged 27.3 mpg keeping his speed between 65 to 70 mph. Not bad for a 365 hp engine.

A sharp looking vehicle, however I'm not too keen on the name.... I think Lambda means something gay. I'm not bashing, seriously Lambda is some sort of liberation symbol for gay people.

Way to go, Saturn. If I were in the market for a crossover, I'd take the VUE's big brother over the Highlander and Pilot.

None of the crossovers will be called Lambda, so rest easy. Saturn's version is reportedly called Outlook. Standard engine will be the HFV6 from the Aura, an eight-cylinder would be optional in the second model year of production.

Also TCC is wrong. The crossover will complement the VUE in Saturn's lineup, not replace it.

Seamus, you have proved that you ARE human. The correct spelling of the letter "L" in the Greek alphabet is Lambda. True, there is a Gay Liberation that goes by the name of Lambda, but the correct spelling regardless does include the letter "b".

I am a brother of Delta Sigma Pi. One of the things you have to know when becoming a part of a social or professional fraternity is the Greek alphabet.

Current word of mouth has the Lambda product for Saturn named Outlook.
