2002 VUE 2.2L
Default Possible new mod

Well, we have a few VUEs in at work with one of these installed... probably not this exact one but it looks similar:
Check me out
Granted, this might be a cheap setup - does anyone know of a better one? I don't mind having exposed sensors, in fact I would probably prefer that setup. I do enough parallel parking though that it might come in handy.

I just checked the seller's feedback... everyone seems to like the setup, too.

well you've got the reverse logic thingy being advertised here on saturnfans... The ad is usually below... Can't attest to how it works or how well it works. I would have to see/try one before I bought it myself.

The ones at work personally are a horrid install. The buzzer is mounted on the B pillar over the seatbelt and looks like garbage. The thing is loud as hell too... I could install it back in the cargo area and have it be plenty audible.

As do I. However, I have pretty illegal tint on my windows, and at night when parallel parking say, in front of a club, it is impossible to tell where the front end is on a car that sits low.
Plus, the damn things just look cool.

All of our civi pattern military vehicles have them and the work quite well and for the price advertised it looks like a good deal.

So do I, BUT. . . My Vue came with them already installed. I have the TOTALLY annoying install that DJ described, loud beeping right in my ear. I'd been going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to have them disconnected. I didn't NEED them, but they were convenient. Well, last Tuesday in Target if I hadn't had them I would've backed over a 4 year old little person that I had NO IDEA was there. :o: Couldn't see him AT ALL. Turned out he was practically leaning against the bumper, he was that close. He wasn't tall enough for me to see him even turned around looking out the back window and using my mirrors. We live on a court with lots of kids, several smaller ones on tricycles and other such low profile things. Needless to say, I decided to keep them connected!

i look in the mirror too, but unfortunately the mirrors cannot see a 6yr old or younger standing directly behind our vues. better to be safe than sorry. my systems warning sound is ajustable and i have it on high. it doesnt bother me but it gets lost when the radio or cd is on to high.

installation could be a pain, but if you have a wiring harness for a hitch, could hook into that.. hrm...

Well, what I am looking at is this: I installed my hitch myself.. the milk pockets come right out, and there is open space under there. Other than pulling the bumper off and mounting the sensors, I can mount the controller under the milk bottle pocket, and point the busser inside the rear wall near the jack. On high, it will be loud enough for me to hear up front with the radio down.

Touch and go, when nobody's looking -- if you can see out your windows.
