Default Exterior body moulding?

Hey all, been asking a lot of questions lately, but here goes. I noticed the 2002 L series has flat spots on the doors as well as the corners of the front and rear bumper covers. It almost looks like it was originally supposed to have moulding there, but I have not found anything whatsoever on any car of that generation having it. We're there any? Or is there any aftermarket trim to fit that? Can't find a darn thing. If I can't find anything, I'm planning on fabbing.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Ask away, Gr8Scott, as it's more useful to do that than guess.

Frankly, I'm not sure which flat spots at the doors and bumper covers you're referring to. In any event, there are two things you can do to answer that question and you've done one of them here. My answer is, no. There is no moulding for the doors on any L-Series car beyond the belt strip at the top of the outer door skin and the appliques at the sides of the window openings. The bumper covers have no trim of any kind. The second way to verify this is to go to a GM OEM online parts website and seek out the things you believe might be present. Regarding aftermarket trim parts for our cars I have no idea whether or not they exist for the doors, or bumpers, as I've never considered searching for them.

I may try to fabricate, then. Maybe just use a thick rubber trim and cut it to fit. Of course, it'll take some trial and error til I get it to look right. But I am making this a slightly heavier duty piece of machinery. The hood, roof, and trunk are all getting rubberized coating. And I'll definitely be welding some reinforcements underneath. Possibly even remove the stock bumper/covers and replace them with tubular.
