Default Cruise Control...another thread with questions..

Hi everyone, I know Cruise Control issues come up here and there and I have been reading... My Issue is the cruise control does not work at all in my 99 SL2 Homecoming. I checked the brake safety switch, it appears to be solid, fuses are good. Would it most likely be the Cruise Control module which attaches to the gas pedal? I seem them floating around on Ebay often..

Like others, the light does glow orange with the cruise is set to ON, just will not engage when set....

Do they really go bad frequently?

Cheers,

Jason

I would look at the steering wheel switches first. My left side cruise on (with light) / cruise off works good. The right side set / resume is kind of flaky depending on the temperature. I have to push it just right to get good results.
You may have to get a wiring diagram and intercept the connection somewhere to test it.

Jason, I have a cc module from a 99 SL2 if you need one. I can ship it to you or wait until my next trip to Toronto and drop it off. I don't know when that is though.

I was going to package it with a leather steering wheel and throw it up on eBay but I've been procrastinating for a couple years now.

Does the horn work? If not, another suspect is the clock-spring.

Horn works great....as I said, I checked the brake safety switch, when my foot is off the brake I can see it making contact with the switch, it pushes in the little pin and I hear it click....

I wouldn't say it is common however I have seen occurrences reported within this forum.
