I washed the coupe.

Well, not really, as I don't do that sort of thing. But it is pouring out.

Was finding a spot in the spare tire well for my portable air compressor that I got for Christmas and figured I might as well check the spare tire pressure while I had it out. I last filled it over the summer and it somehow still had 60psi in it. This thing holds air pretty well, wasn't expecting that. Brought it down to about 25 though now that I have the air compressor.

Pulled the driver's side kick panel & seal, and cleaned out the CLOGGED Drain Tube.

Suggest everyone else with a Sunroof do as well.

Wasn't today, it was actually Friday, but close enough.
I replaced the remainder of the factory cooling system. All new hoses, water pump, thermostat, temp sender, temp sensor, and fresh Dex Cool. I replaced the radiator about 6 months ago, so I consider the cooling system to be completely rebuilt.
I had the upper radiator hose blow out, it split about 3" down the side of it. I decided that enough was enough, and replaced everything. I used gates hoses, gates water pump, stant thermostat, and some off brand for the sensor and sender. And of course, the coolant is Dex Cool.

Picked up a shiny new set of 16" wheels and snow tires from a Honda Fit off of craigslist for $300. Can't wait to throw these on the wagon.

Those look great! How are you going to deal with the smaller center bore size; 56.1mm vs Saturn 57.1mm?

I didn't realize they had a different bore size I just knew they were both 4x100 so I assumed they'd fit. I'll try bolt them on tonight and if they don't fit I guess I'll just re-sell them.

The hubs won't go through; there is a very tight tolerance even with the 57.1 bore size. You can bring them to a machine shop and have them bore out to the correct size. Don't bore them oversize though as Saturns' are hub centric. You'll likely have to remove the tires.

Had my local garage install new GM/AC Delco engine and trans. mounts and dogbones. One dog bone was obliterated, and you can see the pen test on the top engine mount. What an AMAZING difference. The rattling is gone, and I can now hear how smooth the engine runs. I wish I had done this sooner...

Mid winter tune up! A bit late I know....

New air filter, plugs and oil. Ran a compression test.

1-210
2-210
3-200
4-210

Pretty happy with the numbers, am a bit concerned with cyl 3 though. It got to a decent pressure, but it was a bit slower to rise than the other 3 cyls.
Will have to keep an eye on it.

Rendered my SW2 (temporarily) undrivable.

I started trying to install the Tein WRX coilovers ai bought, but for some reason the passenger side hub is tilted outwards and won't go back up in. I think one of the cv joints pulled out. Going to see if I can't remove the axle tomorrow when it's light out.

I also still need to slot the bottom bolt holes on the rear coilovers upwards still, as I missunderstood the instructions I saw and thought only the front ones needed that.

The driver's side coilover is installed though!!

Today? Nothing at all, haven't even seen the car.

Had a teenage driver punt into my passenger side front door leaving work about a week and a half back. At first I thought it just broke the door skin, but the door frame is all bent too, and won't seal up near the top.

So the car is sitting at a shop waiting for parts.

Popped the CV joint back into place and got all the coilovers on. Think it needs a bit more low though. Going to wait a week to see how it settles.

That said, it's a bit sketch atm as while I was able to tighten the big hat-> damper nuts on the front with just a ratchet after jacking the knuckle upwards to compress the suspension, the same teick failed to work on the back, and the center shaft just rotates. I don't have an impact atm, and Tein cautions about the risk of damaging the inner shaft of these dampening adjustable coilovers using an impact anyway...

If anyone is curious, I'm using Tein Street Advance Z coilovers for the Subaru Impreza WRX. In addition to the normal mods rewuired to make them fit the Saturn, your front top hats will need the bottom hat opening bored out to the inner diameter of the included sleeve/collar that slips on so that it can slide all the way on, and the sleeve/collar thing will need to be omitted.

Big weekend for ol Highmile.

New LED headlight bulbs that I have fallen in love with. Cheapies but still love them

4-3/4qts of fresh Valvoline 5w-30 & wix 51516

new muffler

new air filter

4 new NGK spark plugs, old ones were pushing 45k.

new ac delco o2 sensor, old one was prob close to 200k on it.

Then 2 new upgrades that are almost as great as the LED headlights

1. new Wolo bad boy air horn. No more dog squeak toy sounding horn

2. added the lift struts on the hood that I saw in the mod section of the forum

She also got the once over, check front suspension, brakes, lights, cleaned out all the stuff that always seems to collect in my car, vacuumed, etc.
