Was running a Prestone drive around flush since I replaced the thermostat. The stat was a Stant, made in Germany so odds are good that it is factory original, 20 years old!

Did a couple distilled water flushes., then drained and added a gallon of Prestone universal concentrate and topped off with distilled water
Good to go, excellent heat.

Removed the spark plugs (AC Delco 41-627) and installed some NGK V- Power BKR5E-11 plugs. I see a valve cover gasket replacement in my future. I will do it in the Spring after a good piston soak procedure.

I swapped my front turn signals for LEDs and bought a new flasher relay to prevent hyper flashing (I didn't feel like modifying the existing one).

While I'm sure people could easily find the correct parts on their own, I'll attach a picture showing the upgrade parts I used. Works flawlessly!

One year ago, there were no misfires: Note short term fuel trim.

Spare supplies on hand Iíll replace everything and worry about what part failed later...when itís warmer.

Popped in my hi mount brake light sockets and bulbs for the two that wouldn't work even with new bulbs. Got a few OEM sockets with bulbs, and some spares from Rock Auto.

Fixed a side marker light problem that was due to a crappy ground.

Put in the new battery to replace the one that lasted forever. I swore I would probably get rid of the car before another battery. But while getting ready to do it I realized that every time I think of the car as disposable, I don't get rid of it. But I did buy a cheap battery this time.... maybe in a few years I'll quit fixing or replacing things.

Decided to do an oil change today....and what a mess it became. This is the first oil change I've done on the car, but had a receipt from Valvoline that did the last one. Look what the jack wagons had in my car!

Added Penzoil 5w-30 full synthetic and a Motorcraft 910-S oil filter. Sounds great now. But all the trouble removing the splash guard and then having to get that messed up drain bolt out was nuts.

Went to the junkyard and grabbed a drain bolt from an 07 Ion and it fit. Also grabbed 2 brand new brake drums off it as well, as that was the only part of the brake hardware I hadn't yet purchased.

Ya win some you lose some I guess!
