Location of oil drain plug on 2004 Ion 2

My friend was trying to change the oil in his Saturn last night and could not locate the oil drain plug easily. Could anyone please describe in detail where it is or post a picture of the oil drain plug?

Its right under the car. Jack it up and, it cant be missed. I had a harder time finding the filter rather then the nut.

Its right on the oil pan, very hard to miss it.

The filter is a top loading cartridge, and you will want the special tool to remove the filter cap to change the filter.

The tool is about 8 dollars, and works great.

My mechanic didn't have the tool, and he would use a open ended wrench, and that worked equally as good for him.

I did it the first time with an adjustable wrench but it was awkward.
I recommend the low profile socket made for it.

Or a short 32 mm socket in 1/2" drive.
