Bad Headlight Switch?? Battery Draining... lights.

My son has a 2007 Saturn Vue with the auto headlights. He says his brights turn on and he can't turn them off until he flicks the switch lever a couple times. It also seems to be effected with the blinker...... He has turned off his car several times and the headlights (which normally go off) stays on..... He has been stranded 2x with a dead battery... even when the lights turn off, he has awoken to a dead battery. My thought and his is the main headlight switch, which I believe control the auto headlights, need replacing...... easy enough. Any other thoughts, advice or suggestions? Others have the problem?

My wife's 06 had the same issue. Ending up replacing the directional/light switch stalk. We were standing there talking to the mechanic when the lights came on. (They had been off). The lead in issue we had was every time you used the directional, the high beams/passing light came on. Can't remember what we paid to have it done, but it was a relatively simple fix. We had a couple of other things done at the same time.
