Roll Eyes 95 SL Auto Trans code 31, 32

I have a 95 SOHC, MP6, which is throwing trans code 31 and 32. I had just replaced the temp sensor 45 days ago, but went to replace it again. With a meter, I tested the new one at the parts store, and it read the same as mine so I didn't replace it. If you check across the two pins in the sensor, it reads dead short. If you check between each pin and ground, you get a 1.5 to 3.0 ohms on each pin with the two pins reading the same. Plug it into car and it's the same at the PCM connector. Turn the car on and it throws Trans 31, & 32. What's up? (Unplug the temp sensor, and get 32 in about five minutes)

Low Saturn is probably right but to me your post doesn't make any sense. I've got a 95 SHOC auto and my code sheet says 32 is EGR failure. (the MP6 must be the difference, I don't know. I'm pretty stupid when it comes to anything other than my car.) Anyway, pull the sensor and stick in a pot of boiling ass hot water and see if your resistance goes up. Or buy a couple of 1k resisters and plug them into the sensor connector in the same configuration as they would be if they were a sensor. Run the car and see if it doesn't stop throwing the codes. Just from the way it's acting I would say the sensor should be "high" when cold and goes "low" when hot. The 5 minute delay for the 32 code might be because the PCM isn't getting any reading from a sensor at all, with the 1ks in place that will give the PCM something to sense.

Trans codes aren't shown on the CEL (other then 11 indicating you need to look at the coolant lights next), and they're different then the ones shown on the CEL.

31 Transaxle temperature circuit open (cold)
32 Transaxle temperature circuit grounded (hot)

I'd go with a bad connector or wires. Pretty sure the trans temp sensor is the same as the ECTS and IAT so you could replace the connector easy enough but it wouldn't hurt to test the wires for shorts.
...
The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

Thanks guys. Turns out that the Borg Warner parts at Advanced Auto were manufactured shorted. (At least a batch) So when checked the bad part against a bad part...still had a bad part. Changed it for a genuine Saturn part and it worked fine. I had already tested the wires and connectors, but still a good call.
