2008 AURA XR
Default Many modded Aura's out there?

I just joined up even though I have had my Aura since it was new.

I started modding it in early 2010, I drove it one winter and couldn't bring myself to beat it up for another one so it became a summer only ride.

It's an 08' XR in Carbon Flash with Moroccan Brown interior.
Just rolled over 100,000KM last fall, I have barely driven it this year.

My mods so far include:

Custom built 20x9" Lexani CVX-44 wheels with 245/35ZR20 Nitto Invo tires
Full Razzi Lip Kit
Lip Spoiler
1.8" CM Drop Springs
Custom grille- removed and filled Saturn emblem and painted all chrome body color. Body color door pillars.
Custom exhaust from the y-pipe back with 3.5" polished stainless tips
Tint (if you can call it a mod)
8000k HIDs Low beam
3000K Yellow Fog lights
Weathertech floor liner mats and trunk liner
All badging removed and Vauxhall emblem on the trunk.
Vauxhall door sill plates to replace 'Saturn' ones.
Vauxhall steering wheel cap

I'm hoping to finally build my custom fenderwell intake and have a custom tune done this summer.
That is about all I have planned for mods other than open up the headlights and do body color paint in place of the chrome inside the housings.

Hope to see some sweet builds!
Seems ike the Aura's aren't popular to mod at all which is why I love it.
Different is good!

2008 AURA XE
Default Re: Many modded Aura's out there?

Your car looks great man! There were a handful of modded Auras on here, but I believe what you'll find is most users here are stock and prefer to keep it that way. Slim aftermarket for our cars doesn't help either.

2008 XE 3.5

I've modded mine somewhat. One of the first things I did when I got my car was put wheels on it (at the mercy of a pothole destroying one of the factory steel wheels!) I'm still rocking Sport Tuning T10 17x7.5. I found out not too long ago that these wheels are discontinued so I'm looking for something else, I want to go with Pontiac G6 or Malibu 18" wheels.

After resurfacing my factory rotors several times, I decided to order the Brakemotive cross-drilled and slotted zinc coated rotors with ceramic pads. Also painted my calipers.

My main thing so far has been LED lights. I installed LED front park lights which are switchbacks (White on-Amber turn signal or Hazard), White reverse light, white license plate light, red rear turn signals, and 6000k bright white H11 LED bulbs for low beams, I have not yet done my high beams.

I haven't done much performance wise, all I've done is an ebay cold air kit, and deleted the exhaust resonator and installed a 22" Jones muffler in place of the factory. I want to go smaller like 18" on another flow-through Magnaflow style muffler. This is my daily, so I'd rather leave the pcm tuning alone. If I want to have fun I'll hop in my Sierra project truck.

For audio I have Kenwood 3-way speakers in the front doors, left the rear stock speakers alone, and I have added 2 Kicker CVR-12s and pushing them with a Kicker monoblock CXA 600.1. The box takes up a lot space but wow they hit hard!

I have a few other things in mind, but I'm more worried about my truck right now than my car. I'm happy with it currently.

My car's future plans include:
Color matching the grille except the chrome bar, color matching bumper grilles, install touch screen double din radio, upgrade rear speakers, go to a smaller subwoofer/amplifier set up (My truck is getting the big audio!), 18" wheels, and a decklid spoiler. Body kits hate Louisiana roads haha! I'm not going to lower my car either just for the mentioned reason! It's my daily driver. I'd rather not take those chances!

I will have pictures to follow!

Default Re: Many modded Aura's out there?

WOW you make me want your car!

I have a 07 XE right now

Current mods are:

- TruXP Slotted/drilled Rotors with TruXP Brake Pads ($300)
- Now using DOT 4 High performance brake fluid
- Ebay cold air intake with KN filter (I had to really reinforce this $75 Kit but it is now chrome pipe with blue sleeves)

Future Mods:
- New tires
- 20" rims
- 18" flow through muffler
- Split back exhaust (I will have to find a way to make my XE have split back)
- Bong Delete
- Cloth Seat to leather seat replacement
- New stereo system

I also want to lower my car. Where did you get those springs and how stiff is the ride?

Also I like the body kit you have where is that from? and did you paint your grille yourself or buy it like that?

Sorry for the question but your car inspired me!

Hi LSebs!

I realize it's 4 years past your posting, but I wanted to say the car is VERY nice-looking.
1) Do you still have it?
2) Did you end-up doing a custom tune? ... and if so, how did that work-out?

I have a 2007 Aura XR ... 212,000 miles, and am STILL loving it.

Thank you.
