1999 SL2
Default Newbie Help

Hey my parents just bought me a 1999 Saturn Sl2 automatic as a everyday driver, i like it but was wonder what could be done that could increase the horsepower. im not talking any rebuilds or turbos cause im not going to put more money into the car than what its worth. i already read the newbie guide but i was just wonder if anyone had the same car and setup and would like to share.

Thanks for the help

No car will have power increase without spending money. End of story.

Intake/Header/Exhaust.

That will give you some horsepower and will also cost a couple hundred dollars.

a couple hundred is a bit low, figure 50-150 for an intake, 150 for a header, 250 for a custom cat back, thats like 500 bucks, then about 25 to put in a geo tb. and thats all your bolt ons.

Add a way to tune, and it should have some nice extra zip.

lets not get ahead of ourselves here, a safc (for tuning) may only cost 200 bucks, but you also have to pay for dyno time, worth it on an automatic dd. I dont think so, thats why I dont have one.
