So I ordered the parts to rebuild my 99 Saturn SL2, half the parts have arrived, but the pistons and piston rings are still due in another week or two. I have almost everything I need except for one thing which I can't find. Does anyone know a site that carries the actual rods and rod bearings that are in the engine? I looked at many sites but found nothing, any help would be greatly appricated. Thanks guys.

The rod bearings you get depend on your crank measurements.
You can get rods from a few places, what are your plans with the engine? If its just a rebuild, why not just reuse the rods?

Because I got one rod bearing about to snap, so I want to change all four.

If you had a rod bearing go bad I HIGHLY suggest having the crank professionally checked out.

And with that you'll probably do a crank exchange which comes with new crank and rod bearings.

Ahh. The reman crank kits. Inexpensive. But if you do one I highly suggest NOT beating it at all. I snapped the back end off the crank on my s10! they are only good for daily driving since the crank is cut down and the bearings make up the difference.

We have a reman'd crank on our turbo dragster and every engine we've ever rebuilt for other Saturns. No issues at all.

Really? I heard the GM 2.8s were cursed from the start anyways.
Why the usage of the reman crank kits in the dragster?
