Here's a '98 SW2 with 45K miles for $3900:
http://sarasota.craigslist.org/cto/3514384061.html

In reply to kalrith1, I'd definitely drop $2500 for that SW1, assuming it runs as good as it looks. Watch out for scam fees, though (e.g., exhorbitant title fee, dealer prep fee, bend-over-and-grab-your-ankles fee).

According to MSN, there is a slight difference between the different generations. Here are the length, width, and height of the 3 SW generations:
years = length; width; height (in inches)
1993-1995 = 176.3; 67.6; 53.7
1996-1999 = 176.9; 66.7; 54.9
2000-2001 = 178.1; 66.4; 55.6
Again, these are from autos.msn.com, so don't blame me if they're wrong

irish56, thanks for the response. $2,500 is a bit out of my budget right now. If it's still available in a month or so, I might be able to squeeze and extra $500 by then. Right now my budget is $2,000 max, and even that is pushing it a bit.

Thanks for the tips on the fees. I'll try to negotiate the out-the-door price if I go to a dealer.

Here's a 1998 SW2 manual w/ 168k miles for $1800: http://littlerock.craigslist.org/cto/3571719627.html

The price doesn't seem too out of line, but I'm concerned about the hit and run that caused "no structural damage to the car". What do you guys think? I would try to talk him down to $1,300 or $1,400.

From Craigsist in Lynchburg, Va listing on Feb 2, 2013.
2000 Saturn Stationwagon
Only 103,000 miles
3.0 V6
AC, power windows, power door locks
Nice Condition, Must Sell
This is a steal at $2500.00

If interested, call Henry at (434) 841-3677. No emails or texts please.
Location: Madison Heights, Virginia

I talked to the owner, it's in excellent shape.
Factory (?) roof luggage rack, leather seats in great shape, a dark-plum colored SW2.
Rust free (as all the cars in my area of Virginia are).
For me, I just don't want the lower gas mileage from a V6.

And you won't get it. Either the car has a 1.9, or it's an LW. That one in Denver's an LW as well; not even relevant.

Well thanks for pointing that out (not an SW2).
My internet browser is set to bypass the saturnfans forums and go directly here to the S series section. I was not even aware there was an LW station wagon.....I really thought this was what a gen 3 SW looked like.....
Now I know.
Thanks, I would not have posted this ad here had I known.
