What exactly is the "abutment clip kit" that comes with some front pad sets for the 2002-2007 VUE?
I'm considering between Bendix CT-3, Akebono Pro-ACT, and Wager ThermoQuiet pads for our VUE. The Bendix and Wagner pad sets both seem to include that additional hardware, whereas the Akebono set does not. Why would some need/include that hardware and others not? While we're on the subject, what do you guys think of Bendix CT-3 vs. Akebono Pro-ACT vs. Wager ThermoQuiet? Cost isn't a real factor because I can get them all for about the same price. The advantage of Akebono and Wager is that I can get them locally at AAP whereas I'd have to order the Bendix online. It appears as if Akebono is the OEM supplier. Some kits include shims to keep squealing down or some do not.
I personally love Wagner Thermoquiets. I'd put them on anything that needs pads.

If you end up going with the Wagners or Akebonos from AAP, don't forget to check for online coupon codes before you place your order. I religiously check retailmenot when I need to order from Advance because you can usually get $30 to $50 off an order, which usually brings the prices down closer to Internet prices from places like rockauto.com, but you get the convenience and satisfaction of picking up your items the same day in store. The best ones right now seem to be "BIG30", which gives you $30 off an order of $75 or more, or "RETMENOT123", which gives you $10 off $30, $20 off $50, or $30 off $100. Just an FYI ![]() |

I ended up with a $50 coupon with Advance on my last order. It has to be used on $100 or more, but I feel that shouldn't be a problem.
