Clutch gear shifter suddenly feels some resistance
I have a 2002 Saturn SL SOHC manual transmission.
Yesterday, maybe because I did not put shifter properly into gear, the shifter pop out from 2nd gear to neutral during driving. After that, I feels that the gear shifter has more resistance than before, in and out for all 5 gears and back. The car still drives as normal. And the clutch pedal also feels the same as normal.
I had this feeling of resistance one year ago. But it disappeared after two weeks driving.
Can you tell me what may cause such issue? Is it related to clutch fluid, or hydaulics or clutch itself? How can I diagnose it?
Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Clutch gear shifter suddenly feels some resistance
When my 96 started popping out of 2nd it ended up being the shifter cables which had become all frayed at the ends. I also started having a getting hard to get in to reverse before they went completly. If that ends up being your problem, go with the Saturn part, the dormands don't work, they bend and won't go in to gear. I had to jam some rocks in next to the cable under the console to keep them from bending until I could swap them for the saturn part, no prblems since then.
