1997 Explorer XLT 4.0L SOHC 5 Speed Auto:

This was taken while I was slowly pulling the pin striping off.

This is why I bought it:

Haven't done much to it. Replaced the unknown shocks with some Rancho RS5000. I installed some Pro-Comp Add-a-leafs to the rear leaf pack. Twisted the torsion arms to raise the front to match the slight lift from the add-a-leafs. Installed 30" BFG All-Terrains. Painted the plastic trim and side steps with truck bed liner.

No big future plans- back up lights, fog lights that are worth a damn, trans temp gauge, aux trans filter.......

...
Not a Saturn.

Absolutely!

Actually, the Sedona is black because of the colors available (I got it new in 2010 as a left over 2009 at a great price, but I had to pick one on the lot) I liked the black the best.

The Soul is black because the 1.6 version is only available in Black, White, and Silver, and of those three, I liked black the best. My wife wanted the "Ignition" color (burnt orange), but its only available with the 2.0 engine and we didn't want the 2.0.

The SL and B2200 were both bought used, and therefore I picked them based on their other qualities. Silver and gray were colors I could live with. Its not like the B2200 has much paint left anyway.

FWIW, I traded a bright red 2006 Toyota Matrix on the Sedona.

The first three are current members of the fleet - the scooter, the "Mother Ship" (I bought the Satty to give it something to pull around, like a toy), with the "short bus" and the 'vert in the barn.

The last one USED to be mine for a few years. Well, mine and Uncle Sam's. I guess a Lockheed qualifies as a "non Satty".

I don't own a vehicle with more than 1.9L of engine displacement. Efficiency for the win.

Wish I could say that, I have 1.6, 1.9, 2.2, and 3.8 liter engines in my driveway. The 2.2 in the B2200 sucks down gas more than one might expect, but I don't drive it enough to really matter. On the other hand, the 3.8 liter in the mini-van is very thirsty, sometimes as bad as 10 MPG around town. Its bad enough that I was able to justify to myself buying the SL, which on its last fill-up after 100% city driving averaged 30.5 MPG.

I've been thinking about getting a Mazda 5 2.5 liter to replace the 3.8 Sedona, but that would cost too much right now.

My largest engine is is the 4 cylinder in my 1928 Model A Ford, which is about 3.3L. The L-Series wagon is next at 3.0L. The Corvair has about 2.7L.

Landric, I used to have a B2200.... the gas mileage was a little disappointing in it, but it was a great truck. I put 151,000 miles on mine before giving it to someone. It still ran fine, used a little oil and was starting to show a little rust.
