Default Might trade black redline for blue redline

Couple of things. I had to have the oil pan replaced at 700 miles. They mangled the oil dipstick tube with vicegrips when they replaced the pan. They lifted the car wrong and now have to replace the ground affects on the passanger side of the car. The passanger side rear door panel also has to be replaced b/c the up mount is cracked. I only have 1200 miles on the car. I also would prefer a car that is not black. Gm has $3000 rebate, plus I get a gm supplier discount which is about $800. I spoke with the finance manager and he says he can make it happen. Same payments or lower. What do yall think?

If you're going to have the same payments, why not? Like others have said on here, what's the point of driving a car (and paying thousands upon thousands of dollars for one) that you're not happy with?

That is one of the reasons, I sold my SC2, I HATED black. I will never buy a black car again. The Electric Blue is sweet. I am partial to silver, take a look at my gallery and you will see why. I love my silver VUE, I would get silver again.

I say do it, but then again I'm a little partial to the blue Red-lines, I think they actually stand out more than the other two colors. I can look out into the parking lot from the 2nd floor at work, and it seems that all the other colors seem to blend together, and then I notice the color of my car standing out like a crystal blue lake surrounded by a bunch of melted crayons. But of course I might be a little biased.

Remember you receive the programs they had when you originally purchased your Red Line. You would not be able to receive the new programs if you are doing an exchange. I donít mean the be the bad news bird just letting you know ahead of time.

Saturnguy, It would be a trade-in. Not like a 30 day swap out. They would buy mine back and the negative equity would be eaten up by the incentives. It would be like someone trading there old busted for a new hottie.......I would get the incentives in this case.

If the dollars work out there really wouldn't be any reason NOT to do it if its what you really want to do. I'd just watch out for any hidden costs that get thrown in that will end up costing you considerably more money somewhere that isn't evident in the amount of your monthly payment.

I prefer blue over black as well. I will not know if I will be trading it in until Saturnday. The manager wants to work with me on this one. I will NOT trade it unless the bottem line is the same or less than the original note. Between the rebate (which they confirmed to be 3k) and the $1000 gm supplier discount I might actually be able to make this work. I know that I am going to be upside down, the question is.... Will it be more than the incentives will compensate for? I will find out on Saturday.

I would like to mention that even though I have had problems with the car, the dealership has been extremely friendly and are willing to take care of any concerns that I may have and problems that I have with my car. And as for the damaged ground affect and dipstick tube, they are waiting for the parts from paint to install, so they have been willing to work with me. Also, the mechanic working on my car actually envited me back while he is working on it. My sales rep is always there....even after the sale!!! So even though I had problems with the car, I will definately stick with saturn.....they treat me good when others did not. Saturn of Austin Rocks. Thanks Saturn of Austin for working with me!!!! And Thanks Saturn Fans for an awesome forum/website.

Not much. $100 to $200 for the life of the loan.

I didn't trade. If I cashed in my warranty, then I would still be 1500 higher than on my current loan. They were willing to do it, but I did not think it to be worth an extra $40 a month (ttl+warranty+1500). They scheduled a date for the repairs that need to be made. We all agreed that I should go back when the 05's get the rebates so I will have a year worth of payments on the loan and will not be upside down at all. I have only made 1 payment on this one so far and once they get all the bugs out I will be extremely happy with it. Maybe won't even trade it. Who knows, maybe gm will come out with the upgraded package that I can install, then I will not want to trade it in. Thanks again to everyone on Saturnfans.
