Default Looks like time for the Dealership for me.....

well, went to go start Ole Betties this morning for work and started like normal, but Check Engine light came on. I'm like turnin my head, like WTF?????? so i like it run for a bit and nothing out of the norm sounded werid. so i shut her off and popped the hood. checked my oil and under the car, nothing. jumped back in, started again, still got the light, went out and looked under the hood, other than the lite tapping coming from the valves from a cold motor and the noisey ass Alternator that was never changed from my Hydro-locked motor last summer, everything sounded find.

So, im going to try to pulled the code off of her and see whats up. only thing i can think of would be a Mass airflow sensor probably took a crap, O2 sensor, or maybe a Knock sensor has failed. hoping nothing major, but i want to pull the code before i have it towed down to the chop-shop to get worked on.

let me know what you guys think????

I just had my check engine light come on. The evap purge valve went bad. It didn't affect driving, the car would have just failed an emission test.

Hopefully its something simple like what I had.

Sometimes it can as simple as not properly securing the gas cap after the last time you filled her. It will take a tank (or two) of gas to reset it if thats the case.

Are you using E10 gas? I know it caused my car to turn over and vomit...

mine gets Premium only, i sometimes run Mid-Grade, but i think it might have been the gas cap. i think when the last time i put gas in it, i must not have turned it all the way.... boy do i feel dumb.

but i still need to take it in to get the alternator replaced, cause its makin mad noise.

I honestly think you're blaming the wrong thing.

I've been relunctantly filling the car up with E10 during my US trip and it hasn't given the car any hiccups whatsoever.

Also been doing it whenever I was in Ontario.

I refuse to fall in Ultramarde's (derp) game of slightly prices in exchange of a crappier product.

Agreed...that's all most midwesterners get anymore. I've been running it for a while. Wish I didn't have to, but it's practically unavoidable. There's no question, though, that it drops your mileage by a bit.
