2007 Outlook XR
Default Keys/New Outlook

Does anyone know if the keys to the Outlook can be duplicated by an online discount dealer? I have my key code and would like to order a few extra.

I just took delivery of my 07 Outlook today. I ordered it from the dealer on 5/21 and it arrived yesterday. Cocoa/Black XR. I love it!

Why not just get your tore to get you a couple of extra keys? see if the sales department will get them for you. If they won't they should be fairly inexpensive. Especially when you factor in a shipping charge and any reputable place would want to see proof of ownership nowadays.

Speak to your salesperson, they should get you extra keys at no charge. You spent over $30,000 on the car, right? The least they could do is honor your small request. Charging you for it is nickel and diming IMO.

I heard the keys were expensive because they have a transmitter in them? True or False?

You will get one extra key when you get your welcome packet in the mail from Saturn. Took about 2 months for mine to get to me.

Looks like they do.
It is easy to add keys though. Up to ten keys can be added to the car. Use a known good key (one that starts the car/has already been learned to the car) and turn the ignition on, engine off. Then removew the key and within 10 seconds insert the new key to ignition on engine off. Should be all set to go once that is done.

I just read this on the acadia forum:

"Took to dealer and they charge $50 for key, $85 to program, $150 for remote (programmed). Total was $285. KEEP YOUR TODDLERS AWAY FROM YOUR KEYS. THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. I learned my lesson. Thanks to all."

That why I want to find an online dealer and get one or two extras...

Ouch!!!! {in response to the previous post about the acadia keys}

Just one more reason to pick the Saturn over the GMC! The Saturn store I work at wouldn't charge anywhere NEAR that much!
