Attention traction control problems

Hi all!

I need your help with this one:

My 2000 LS2s traction control has been acting up. The TRAC light that normally is ALWAYS lit goes out whenever all the bulbs do their self check on startup. The traction system is not functional but the ABS system is.

Im home from school on winter break and the closest dealer to me here is about 2 hours away. The dealer only says "bring it in"... I made an appointment with the local chevy dealer my parents use to have them take a look. I dont know that i am totally comfortable making the drive back to school with the car like this, my concern is that the ABS system will die too.

The only noticed the light not being on when i drove home in the dark last night. I havent driven the car in the dark since i had the car inspected the other day; im hoping something just got bumped loose when they had the front wheel off.

Any similar experiences from everyone or insight from the techs would be great. Im hoping i have some valid info so i can direct the chevy guys where to go on wednesday.

thanks again!

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

When you say "not functional", are you referring to the fact that the light does not light up, or does the system actually not perform?
You could test it's performance by finding an empty parking lot (preferrably with snow or ice) & gun the accelerator. If the wheelslip gets corrected, it may just be the light.

just to update:

chevy dealer found no codes stored, but did disconnect and reconnect all applicable parts...... and it works now.

everything is functioning again, and hopefully it stays that way.

have a good day everyone!
