The carpet is in and the front seats are in.
We still need to do the back seats but he can drive his can again while they are being done.

I found a NOS Headlight. It is the passenger side and it still has plastic covering on it. I only found one but I have a driver’s side coming from Oregon.
Hopefully the one from Oregon will be as good shape as it looks.

This one is sweet...

I bought LED fog lights. He should be ready for night driving soon.
I just bought new halogen lights for the brights.

Thanks, we are very happy with the results. We were going to have to buy seat covers but no now.
It no longer looks like a 20-year-old interior.

We hope to get the back seats put together soon. Later I will buff the paint out to make it look better.

He has about 40 hours in driving on his permit so far. He needs 8 hours night driving. I will help him on that when I finish his headlight upgrade.
He will turn 16 soon and he wants to take his finial drivers test soon.

My son’s car would rattle the exhaust when you were at idle. It rattled really bad. The flex pipe was bad. All the junk yards cut out the catalytic converters and mess up the flex pipe.
I bought one off ebay $19.20 shipped.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...59224&_sacat=0
I cut the old one out and welded the new one in. It is so much better no more rattle.
This was my first-time mig welding exhaust.

The flex pipe above was T304 Stainless Steel Double Braid w/ T409 Stainless Steel Extensions 5 year 50K warranty.

New headlights in. I bought Philips 9005 VisionPlus Upgrade Headlight bulbs for the bright. I hate them way to yellow.
The NOS headlight is so sweet.

The back seat is in looks so much better.

When I took off the exhaust the filling just fell out of the first cat.

Nice job on the exhaust. I dread that job, hope it holds out for a few years yet.

Thanks, I looked up welding exhaust pipe welding on YouTube. They said to do a stitch weld running kind of hot. Weld turn weld again. Try to keep keep the heat down so you don't burn through. It worked pretty well.

I put on new wiper blades and we got 30 MPG on yesterday’s gas tank.

My son now has his driver's license now. He got his license a couple days ago.
School is 39 mile round trip. He has drove last couple days. 31.5 MPG last tank.
It will be interesting to see when he has a full tank on his own. He has not been driving the interstate.
That make a little less MPG but time will tell.
Over Xmas break we will clean up the outside of the car but it is running great.

My son has been driving his car 60 miles a day to school. Now that he is using his car everyday the oil consumption has decreased a lot.

He is driving 300 to 350 miles a week and adding a little oil every couple weeks. Less than ˝ qt.
I did not expect this at all.

The car is had been doing great and he is still driving 60 miles a day.
He called me and said brake pedal went to the floor. I grabbed some brake fluid and drove to get him. He was only a few miles from home. I filled the master cylinder had him drive my car home.

It turned out the brake line that between the back wheels had sprung a leak.
All the other brake lines look brand new. I replaced that part and he is back on the road again.

When I inspected it before I did not see this spot the bad spot was right in the middle and that part is covered up.

Glad to hear both your boys' saturns are still getting used. Both of ours are lucky to do 20 miles a week, maybe less.

My oldest is going to Clemson university and they have started in person classes.
My youngest son that drives the 99 is in private school and they started on time and are full time even doing a school play.

the car is looking really good.

In person classes would make me nervous, like long ago when the kids came home from daycare with various disgusting illnesses they got from the other kids, only worse.
