Default Fuel pump Delphi vs Spectra

I've had my Delphi pump assembly for 6 months now and its not impressive. Now its indicating full fuel down to the first 1/2 of the tank and its leaking down immediately. If I plug the rail I see the pump pressure drop off to zero within a second of the pump shutting off. It makes starting annoying.

I know there are a lot of bad quality pumps out there and I really don't want to get stranded 100 miles from home so I'm looking for a quality pump. I"ve had good luck with Delphi's in the past.

So should I roll the dice on another Delphi or go with the Spectra. I see Spectra is a favorite on Rockauto.

I'd review old threads here for advice on brands. I seem to recall that Carter and/or Airtex were the preferred brands for reliable/properly inspected fuel pumps.

On other parts like radiator replacements, Spectra's reputation has been mixed. And Delphi has been eroding its reputation as a lowest-bid part reboxer.

Thanks, OldNuc! Redoing a fuel pump because of crappy replacement parts would have to be one of the worst!

Put the Carter in this weekend. Issues seem to be resolved. Car starts up right away after sitting. Of course the Delphi pump worked well for 6 months too though. I did notice that the Carter pump makes more noise than the Delphi but you can't hear it once the car is running.
