Default 2007 Aura power steering leak

Leak takes about a week or so to get low so I haven't been the quickest to fix it, but I did take a look to see where it was coming from. Right at the base of the steering column, where it column and the rack meet.

Anyone ever have a leak there? Is there a seal or something common there?

I'll post pictures later when the car is home here.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bringing back this old unanswered post. I have this exact same issue. It appears to be profusely leaking power steering fluid from where the intermediate steering shaft goes into the steering rack. Anybody know if this is fixable by a deal or new iss or seal will fix it??

I've fixed power steering leaks in the past just by sucking out the old fluid( bad fluid causes the leaks-hint) in the res. a few times( followed by replacement and driving for a day or two,) repeating several times more until the color of the fluid cleaned up.
Once you're at that point, some steering fluid STOPLEAK is added to the system after enough is drained to create room. SHould stop the leak if it hasn't got too bad.. Beats the price of new parts if it gets you down the road for a couple more years.

And I did just that on several cars.

What engine? This one?

WHere on the diagram?

HOpefully it's just a loose hose clamp on reservoir hose to pump.

Doesn't mean you can loaf and let the old fluid stay.

I discovered a power steering leak a few months after I bought my AURA back. It was leaking from under the engine on the driver's side as evidenced by the spot in my driveway. Apparently something to do with the lines? Dealer repair was covered under my CPO BTB warranty. Haven't had a problem with it since.

Woops sorry for not specifying what year and engine.

2008 Aura Xe 3.5l V6.

It gets new fresh fluid quite often as it is leaking pretty darn bad. It for awhile was just needing to be topped off every month or so. As of late it is every few days.

The leak doesn't appear to be coming from a line as that would be a simple fix for me. It is right where the steering intermediate shaft goes into the rack. So right where the column leads down through the firewall and into where it connects into the rack. Not sure if a seal can go bad in there or what but its pretty well soaked down there and I can visibly see fluid seeping from out the top.

Worse comes to worse I will order a new Rack and replace it myself but was hoping for an easier alternative.

Thanks for the assistance guys!

I found to have the same issue today when inspecting it. The leak is very slow but boy one small leak after another.

I'm beginning to think the aura has many weak points for leaks in general.
