Question Gas Mileage Anyone?

I'm curious as to what kind of gas mileage everyone gets.

The estimated fuel economy for mine is 19 mpg. I have the 2004 V6 AWD Vue.

I'm definetly getting higher than that though. I've been tracking my gas mileage since I bought it and it is averaging about 300 miles per tank..

I mainly drive suburb/rural/town areas. I'm never in the city for stop and go traffic.. and I do drive highway, but only about 10% of a tank usually. I know all of this is a factor so I listed it.

...
I can't tell you if genius is hereditary, because heaven has granted me no offspring.

Best every in my 03 V6 AWD was 27 mpg. That's straight interstate @ 70 mph. No stops.

My city highway runs about 21 mpg.

It all depends on roads, conditions, and driving habits.

I'm at 23.3 mpg average with my 4 cylinder 5 speed. It's almost entirely stop and go city with speeds rarely over 50 mph.

My average for 1.75 years of driving is 21.3 US MPG.

Worst tank was 17.54 MPG (but I was towing an enclosed snowmobile trailer for 1/2 the trip).

Best tank was 28.24 MPG, in the summer, longer distance country type drive (ie: minimal stops).

Interstates in Colorado outside of metro areas and the mountains are 75 mph. I don't remember if I-80 through Nebraska is 80 mph or 75 mph.

Pretty similar here too. Sadly mine's dropped off recently, I'm seeing around 22-23 highway when I baby it. 'm attributing this partly to me needing to do some maintenance (she's coming up on 100k) and partly due to that damn ethanol. I got 20 last tank and I was a bit heavy footed several times with some decent amounts of city driving in too.

I used to get like 24-25 overall, I've gotten 28 on an all highway trip once.

I think our biggest issue with the Vue is the aerodynamics suck. If they had run the car through a wind tunnel and went with a shape that was more fluid and less blocky, we could be seeing 30mpg with the J35. That and first gear, if we weren't f'ed in the a with the TM in 1st gear, it wouldn't have to rev to 3000rpm and we'd actually be putting some power down in first. We'd probably be over 20 city without the TM and other crap they put in for first gear.

I consistently get 21-22 MPG on my 04 V6 AWD in town driving mostly. Did get 25 mpg last week on a 200 mile trip mostly mountain road, not bad for mountains.

FYI - Idaho rural interstate speed limit is 75 mph

They raised it since I was last in the El Paso area. It was 70 back in '98. I remember blowing through there at 80 and not passing anyone.. Even past a cop sitting on the side of the road and not getting pulled over. Gotta love that!!!

I haven't seen a highway speed limit above 65 in Ohio.. I hate it.

I love going to visit family in KY they live pretty much near the border to TN.. straight shot down I-75, their speed limit is 70 or 75.. can't remember which it's been a while.

When you get to downtown Cincinnati it drops to 55.. then to 45 I think...ridiculously slow.. the tunnel is fun though. After crossing the bridge to KY it's 75 to 80 the rest of the way for me!! I once made it there in under 3 hours.. that was in my Accord and it took a little less than half a tank. I was so proud of her... 35 miles per gallon.
