Default Putting 1999 SC2 wheels on 2000 SL2

Hey guys, quick question. I have a 2000 SL2 I've had forever. My buddy's 1999 SC2 just died on him, and he has 4 nearly brand new tires on his wheels. The SL2 tires are 185-65-r15 , his SC2 has 195-60-r15 tires on it. Would this be a clean wheel swap? Seems senseless not to yank them off the car before it goes to the junk yard. I have the metal wheels, he has the crappier ones with the plastic hub caps.

Any stock S-Series wheel will fit on any S-Series.

As long as both are the same wheel size there will only be minor speed/odo-meter discrepancy (under 2.3%). Likely won't notice between the 2 stated size's.

From my calculations your speedo will read about 2.7% slow. That is assuming they program the sedans different from the coupes with respect to tire size.

Edit: that's not right. That is the difference in the sidewall height, overall radius change will be a lot less.

Edit 2: about 1.05% slow. Go for it.

Score the whole car if you have the real estate to keep it.

There's a bunch of parts that will interchange...

Edit to add -

Steel wheels RULE!

I would pay extra not to have to hassle with aluminum rims....

14's were steel only (14x5 I believe)
15's were steel or alloy on the SL2 and SW2
15's were alloy on SC2 and optional on the rest
Not sure how wide the 14's are but the 15's are all 6 inch's.

They're fully interchangeable so that is only valid for what came on the cars from the factory...not what happens to be on one now that it's 17+ years out of the factory

Thanks for the info.... it looks like I'm going to go to the 195/60's on my SL2.... I really need tires TODAY, and no one seems to stock much in the 185/65 size. The one Discount Tire that has the tires I want.... no power, so they're closed today. If I go to the SC2 size, I can get them today/closer, so I think that's what I'm going to do.

I'm getting snow tires, so I'll be keeping my eye out for more rims.
