OK where are you oging to get a "Saturn RV" cam first of all? There is also another problem I can see.
Yes - they do create more power
Yes - they allow more air in

BUT any RV I have seen are made to make VERY low end power used to haul the weight of it around.I have not seen many RV's shifting at 6500.Sure they may have a higher lift and longer duration but you have to take into account where the degrees of the cam opens the intake and exhaust vavle.

Like a diesel engine they make huge HP and have HUGE cams BUT they will usually only rev to 2100 rpm and making peak hp from 12-1800.

IT'S NOT FOR REAL!!! IT'S A FLAME YOU CANNOT PUT A CAM FROM A RV INTO A SATURN!!! IT'S THE DUMBEST IDEA I'VE EVER HEARD AND I THINK THE PURPOSE OF IT WAS TO SEE WHAT DA WOULD TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!! DO NOT TRY TO OR BELIEVE THAT A CAM FROM A RV WILL FIT YOUR CAR... IT WILL NOT... AND EVEN IF IT DOES IT WILL DO NOTHING PRODUCTIVE FOR YOUR CAR!!!

Hey... LOL

project_sl-2: it was not a flame attempt... and that's not what my nick is rofl... flamewalker as in walks on fire... not spam

I was just saying what my brother said... I didn't say I've done it...but I think MrSector9 is right... it makes sense... kinda... but now I doubt how much it could possibly help, if at all...

I dunno...he may not mean actual RV cams, but cams that act similarly... I'll have to ask him bout it.

A Saturn RV? I thought they were making a minivan......I say SaturnFans submit a proposal to take that minivan and make an RV out of some of them. TV, fridge, and everything else. I'd buy it

RV cams are not "RV cams".

RV refers to a style of lobe on the cam, not what the cam goes into. If I remember right the design overlaps the opening of both the intake and closing of the exhaust valves. It also incresses the duration of the valve lift.

RV cams build lots of turque in the lowend, while working reasonable well in the top end. They used to be that mainstay of V8 engine soup ups. A manifold, new Carb and RV cam would really make a sleepy V8 wake up. RV cams do run a little rough though.

Thank cloud819... I talked to my bro, and he said its an upgrade cam, not a cam that goes into an RV. The RV cams use the RV specs as to how to open and close and how long, which as you stated, will help in low end torque.

Some people are so overreactive about stuff when they don't even know what they're talking about....not going to mention any names...

Just because it SOUNDS ridiculous, doesn't mean it is... in this case there was a little lack of information.

Next time try doing a little research or asking questions before you try to ridicule someones comment

Anywho, like I said before, getting RV cams installed, according to my brother (20+ years master car technician, and has dealt a lot with performance stuff) said would give the biggest gains in performance for the money.
