Default Transaxle drain plug location

Greetings everyone.
Can someone please tell me where exactly the transaxle drain plug is located? I have a 1996 sl2 standard. According to the owner's manual they show a picture of an automatic transmission with the drain plug facing to the left, away from the exhaust. I checked underneath and found what seems to be a drain bolt but it faces toward the exhaust. But there are a few other bolts and I don't want to start undoing the wrong one. Aslo, there is no mention of a filter for a manual. Can someone please advise? Thank you.

No filter, and the plug is on the passenger's side of the vehicle, facing the exhaust. The big wide flanged bolt in the middle left of the following photo, right in front of the dark fluid leak on the trans case...

PS - the trans drain plug on the left looks very similar to the oil drain plug on the right.

Thanks. Glad to help.

BTW, just to avoid confusion, I meant to say the trans drain plug is on the passenger's side of the transaxle case, not the passenger's side of the vehicle. It is the plug on the left of that photo, facing the exhaust pipe. The plug on the right of the photo facing the rear of the car is the oil drain plug.
