Default 2003 ION stalls at stop sign...otherwise....

My 2003 ION runs great in every way..... but stalls
at stop signs , and in any parking lot situation....it is
down right dangerous !
I have replaced IAC & TPS......cleaned out throttle body, &
IAC ports...but still does it ! Funny thing is.... not all the time ,
and only when at full hot operating temps... not when cold....
So....what's up ?
SHOULD I REPLACE FUEL INJECTORS ?
Can't think of anything else ?

At 203k miles, age and mileage related issues to long term parts are often forgotten about. Long out of warranty, did you check fuel pressure. Clogged fuel filter? Monitoring pressure while driving may reveal whether or not its on its last legs since no one can tell when a pump begins to fail intermittently.

One member heeded advice (higher mileage than yours), didn't notice fuel pressure issues first time around until it was suggested to leave the pressure gauge connected and check it the moment the engine randomly dies. He found the next check with the needle bouncing wildly. New pump fixed his problem.

How's compression?

Would love a followup on this subject. Not experiencing stall out conditions... but noticing some brief stuttering/sputter (which might be normal/nothing?) but might be time for a new Fuel Filter (Been about 10 years so due regardless).

Does the ION's Computer keep track of Fuel Pressure electronically or is it monitored say at the Fuel Rail (or other existing/installed port?) with a user installed Analog or Digital Gauge, if someone wanted to monitor "Real-Time" Performance?

I'd kind of like some Before/After Readings so I can see what improvement(s), if anything, my fresh filter will provide besides cleaner fuel.

Regardless of proper PSI readings... (Probably look for a decent gauge this week... Any good suggested range for the ION's pump?)

Decided to swap the filter today. (Had made an attempt last week... but got frightened off when I found a lot of rust, a missing bolt (along with the huge hole of missing Metal/rust that probably rotted away years ago where the bolt would have been attached), a spliced in nylon line, just before a rusty bit of line that took A LOT more TLC/Force with the Disconnect tool then I was ready for.

Tip: (Re)Watch Fuel Filter replacement videos more carefully. I should have realized the Metal Line was supposed to be there (the Nylon maybe not so much?)... And give the disconnect tool a test drive on the new filter so you know how it "should" look and feel... Kind of a "Finger Trap" type concept for me. Release the prongs, hold that position, and pull the filter off. Not as much Rust built up in the connection/line as I expected but I won't wait another 10 years before replacing it again...
