Coolant in Intake Manifold?

I've heard that coolant flows through the intake manifold on the DOHCs, and if that's true, how would I bypass the intake (keeping the intake air cooler, making more power)?

Routing around it? That's a secret

....that I don't know.

yes coolant flows through the 1.9L dohc intake manifold. go outside, open the hood and take a look and you will see hoses going to and from the coolant reservoir in and out of the intake manifold. perhaps you could disconnect the hoses from the intake side and connect them together in a loop bypassing the intake manifold.

Nope, coolant flows from the head into the manifold then out to the reservoir and heater core. Although it does flow through the manifold it has its own runner, shared with the hot EGR gasses, too. It'd take some fabrication/welding to reroute those passages.
