Default Suspect bad diff-pin. dangerous to drive?

I have the puddle under the car after my neighbor tried to get the car out of the snowbank(spinning). There are aluminum filings in the fluid. Do I dare to drive it?

Thanks,
S

Ummm..... NO! If the Differential is blown...you are going to do more damage than anything else.

Get your neighbor to pay for it. That's rediulous.

Don't drive it, assuming that the diff is blown, it can only get worse and take out additional, expensive parts.

In defense of a third party trying to get the car out of a snow bank, and spun its wheels, this is the first car I owned that has this "diff pin" issue. I lived in Ohio for 11 winters and spun many a tire, without problems. Someone not familiar with the "diff pin" would have no idea.
Man, I owned a 77 Rabbit and drove the h3LL out of it. In many Ohio winters.
I wouldn't have known about the diff pin if not for this forum!

My Saturn, on the other hand, has lived nearly its whole life in the SW or SE so doesn't know what snow is.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
