Gents,
My 2000 SC2 (manual trany) stall when comes to stop or some times when idling. Check OBDII codes. Nothing came up. Tune up was done last summer, new air filter was put in month ago. Car is fairly well maintained overall. Please post replys with what it could be. Thanks in advance.

You're throttle body needs a good cleaning. Removal is quite easy and allows you to see the IACV and TPS. The IACV is easier to remove for cleaning as well as the entire cavity of the throttlebody where lots of soot has built up.
Here is a video from Richpin06 that shows the TPS removal. I do so to show how easy it is to do this work. And of course is a latent suggestion for the author to produce the throttlebody removal and IACV cleaning. http://youtube.com/watch?v=KD51U5eofqo |

ECTS? It is possible it might have the plastic one still.
My 2000 didn't but I'm not sure if the previous owner changed it or it came that way.

I believe they changed to brass tipped sensors mid-year '01. Both my '01 SC1 and my '01 SC2 had the resin tipped sensors.

Is it recent? I had the same thing happen to my 96 SC1 two weeks ago during one of the first sub freezing days here, and it turned out to just be a semi frozen gas line.

Thanks to all of you. I will try cleaning the throttle body with all adjacent parts. Will keep you posted.

Your symptoms seem to be somewhat tied to braking. I would check the vacuum hose going to the brake booster to make sure it isn't soft & rotted and collapsing when you hit the brakes. The sudden change in intake vacuum might cause the engine to stall if the Idle Air Control valve can't open up fast enough to keep the engine running. I would also check your electrical system. Particularly your alternator, fusible link (wire between starter & alternator), battery & terminals, and your grounds. Your brake lights surge and draw alot of power when you hit the brake pedal. Which may in turn starve the ignition system of power just long enough to cause it to stall if the electrical system can't keep up as a result of the above mentioned issues.
