Default 2008 Saturn Vue Hybrid P0A92 Error Code - anyone have experience with this?

My recently purchased, used Vue had the engine and battery lights come on while driving on the Interstate. I also noticed that the charge/discharge gauge was not moving at all. By the time I made it home the "Service Hybrid System" message had come on. I parked it and it died. Would not restart. I plugged in a code reader and got the code P0A92. I looked it up and it refers to a "Hybrid Generator Performance" problem.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of situation, or with this error code? I am dreading having to get it towed to a GM dealer and facing a major expense for repair.

Did you find out what is wrong? I am having the same issue now. ANyone has any idea?

caon, I doubt the OP, Duderino, will reply since he posted once and didn't follow up with a solution in over two years.........

The are a few Vue hybrid members posting issues here so you might try searching within these forums for info. My guess, from an overall perspective with little familiarity of hybrid operation, is the complicated electronics bridging the main 12v battery, rechargeable battery pack for electric motor use, wiring and the combination starter/generator. And if I'm not mistaken, the complicated drive belt is used by the starter/generator to restart the engine at stoplights when in eco(?) mode, creating another issue if the serpentine belt isn't kept taut. Is the 12v battery good?
