Default Model in question.

Looking at Craigslist - it's listed as a 92 SL1.

It's a two door with flip up headlights.

Obviously it's an SC.

Did they make an SC1 with flip up headlights??

1995 SC2
Default Re: Model in question.

No. 1991-1996 Saturn Coupes ONLY came with pop-up headlamps on the SC(1991-1992 only), and the SC2(1993-1996).

The SC1 trim level was NOT available in 1991-1992 model years, and when GM added it in 1993 it came with the SL front end pieces.

The only exceptions to this are the "conversions", which is a difficult and unpopular modification of adding the SC2 front end to whatever model of S-Series the owner has. It is costly, lengthy, and requires plastic welding of the fenders, as well as wiring changes to get the headlamps to work correctly.

Dizzy Re: Model in question.

Went and looked at it yesterday. The car was locked - so did not peek at the engine.

But, it had the " dual cam" logo on the right reat - so odds are it is a twin cam ( theoretically possible it's the wrong lens).

It was pretty ugly. Some body issues - horrible paint, and a POS aftermarket sunroof ( too big) that is slathered up with silicone - so count on leaks. There was also silicone on the upper passenger's side of the windshield - so it's probable it has rust issues due to the leaky sunroof.

The guy claimed 100,000 actual miles - and got snooty when I suggested the odometer didn't work. I said I was quite certain it didn't work. I asked him if he reset the trip meter when he got there and he said no. I told him that when you see zero miles on the trip meter - that's a good sign the odometer doesn't work.

He insisted it MUST work - because the speedo worked - so the cable MUST be good, and the odo HAS to work.

I then explained I have 3 first gens without working odos, but working speedos.

....

The underbody was so- so. I really don't need it - so I offered him $250 for it - and told him to keep trying to sell it - and if it doesn't to call me back.

We' ll see....

I' m thinking " sawzall convertible".
