2004 VUE 3.5L
Default Is the Outlook wider than the VUE?

Okay all,

I really, really, really like the Outlook and would love to get one. However, I really want something that is bigger- meaning wider than longer. Longer is okay, but I am looking for something where the driver and passenger are not so close together. Kind of like the bigger pickups - but I want that in the Outlook (I am NOT a pickup girl).

Can anyone tell me the width of the VUE vs the Outlook if they have the info??

Thanks,

Laura

Default Re: Is the Outlook wider than the VUE?

Let me clarify.. I love my VUE and the way it drives. I have been a passenger in a Expedition and I love the bigger feel of the front driver/passenger area.

Hope that isn't too confusing.

Thanks,

Laura

I don't have the measurements exactly. But it's got to be wider than the VUE for sure. It's a much larger vehicle.

VUE

Devil Re: Is the Outlook wider than the VUE?

If you knew my MIL, you wouldn't be asking that question :-) The more I know my MIL, (mother-in-law) the more I love my dogs..

Anyway, I think I clarified that. I am looking for a bigger, roomier feel. Thanks BobbyP for the info. That helps alot.

I would have loved to have sat in the Outlook at the Auto Show but it was up on a display.

Thanks,

Laura

Find a Chrysler Pacifica and sit in it. That should give you an idea how big the Outlook will be.

The VUE has 54.7" of shoulder room in the front. The Outlook has 62.0". The Outlook is a pretty wide vehicle. Putting your MIL in the 3rd row might work out the best!

there was a typo in the post by BobbyP: 2WD Tahoe is 5265 lbs, about 500 lbs more than the 2WD Outlook...

Hope it will be available with iron reinforced bars.....though in my case, I'd prefer 2 inch thick plexiglass....soundproofing is much more important than containment .....the dogs aren't the concern here.....lol

Yeah, that's the idea. And since GMC is getting the Acadia, and the redesign of the GMT360 platform has been scaled back to a facelift again, it looks l.ike the end of the road for the Envoy, and the rest might not be far off. I want an Envoy in the worst way (eventually, I'm still a broke student ). The Acadia is very nice, but I think I'd prefer the true truck-based type of vehicle, I much prefer RWD, or RWD-bias AWD. Time will tell, and a side-by-side test drive will help of course. In fact the Raineer will be killed-off to make room for the Enclave.
