Default Has anyone installed a hitch on the RL yet??

To make a long story short, we have had some engine bogging (V6 AWD) and weird clicking from time to time that the dealer cannot seem to figuire out. We are just inside 30 days of our purchase and will probably be exchanging our Vue for another one. We have the black with the tan leather non RL and want to stick with that combo. We would consider trading up to the RL, but I definitely want to put on a 2 inch hitch but only to haul around bikes or for one of those tray carriers nothing more substantial. Has anybody figured out a neat and reasonable solution for putting on a hitch for the RL?
Thanks,
Joe

The latest I have heard is that the RL problem with towing deals with cooling, not suspension issues.

It's not a cooling or suspension issue if all you are doing is putting a bike carrier on there, it's a bumper problem. I understand that if you install a hitch on the RL, the spot where you would slide the hitch in would be just behind the bottom of the rear bumper. From what we have found, you'll need some sort of U-shaped adapter or mount the hitch lower via some sort of spacer, but IMHO mounting the hitch a couple inches lower would look like crap. I know that at least one member here w/ a RL has fabricated something to use with a regular hitch. I can't find who it is, but I know he's around her somewhere. I hope he speaks up!

LineRed has an add in the classifieds regarding a hitch for the Redlines. I am wondering what the pics look like. I may just go out and purchase a hitch and see if there is a way to make the drawbar go under and up to the receiver. who knows..

I tell you what- i'm not sure where you are videojoe, but I know a sales guy at Saturn of Okemos in Okemos, Michigan that might give you a trailer hitch if you bought a Redline Vue from him...
