2005 ION-2 Sedan
Default 2007 Ion No-Start P0341

Hi, my friends 07 Ion died on his way into town today & when I got over to look at it, it would fire up for a split second then die, no passlock or security light staying on or flashing(it does come on when you first try to start the car then goes out, so I know the bulb is good.

I hooked up a code scanner & had no codes at first. I tried starting it a couple more times then scanned it again & got 0341 Camshaft Position sensor bank 1.

The car has 102,000 miles, recent plugs, it has spark & fuel to the injector rail.

I went & picked up a new CPS & changed out the one on the front of the engine & that did not help, so I switched it with the one on the back of the engine & that did help either.

Any suggestions would be awesome......

Thanks!

Rick

I'm not sure if it's set up the same as the 2005's, but the low fuel display should have appeared at approx an eighth tank
That's something that you have to watch, as it appears to be a common issue. Depending upon the car that usually means that you could have as much as two and a half gallons left or less than a full gallon.
