Default Thermostat change on 97 sl2

I just noticed my temperature gauge is barely getting past the cold mark when it normally sits on the 1/4 mark. Would this be a thermostat? I have had the car since 2002 and it has never been changed. I have never had this problem.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!
