Our local Saturn dealership became a Mitsubishi dealer (same owner). That’s what got me looking at the website. It seems Mitsubishi cars can’t compete in sales numbers against the big Japanese names in America even though they do better in the rest of the world. If I was forced to buy new I would seriously consider a Mitsubishi because they are priced to sell and especially with the dealer so close.

I’d keep my Saturn regardless.

Its interesting that the defunct/extinct brands made the list in a loyalty rebate program. Its a good way to bring in orphaned owners left without their first choice for their next new car.
Maybe other car manufacturers have similar programs and you can get a few extra bucks being a Saturn owner just about at any car dealer? ( even GM?)...

That would be interesting to discover. The last time I was at a Chevy dealership (getting oil changed) they tried to sell me a new Chevy and offered me the "princely sum" of $500 as a trade-in for my SW2.

We had a Ford car with a Mitsubishi diesel engine. Very nice diesel, for the era. It ran so smooth that someone eventually put gasoline in it. They did not realize it was a diesel.
Never loan your diesel vehicle to anyone.

Competition Clutch 10Lb. Flywheel. 14 stalls to date (and loving it).
Oil use is 1 ounce per 100 miles with ~230,000 miles on the engine

That's like my electric company offering me $50 for my old refrigerator that still works fine, but technically isn't as efficient as a new one that won't last more than a few years without some electronic part going bad, and be a huge up front "investment".

I don't usually go down to the auto park, where all the dealership lots are located, but I was down there on Sunday. Noticed that the local Mitsubishi dealership is closed (and not just because it was Fathers' Day). The lot was devoid of cars and all that's left of the Mitsubishi signage are the outlines where the letters used to be attached to the building facade). Guess, if they had a vehicle I was remotely interested in buying, I'd be SOL on the Saturn trade-in deal lol.

It's funny that Mitsubishi offers to buy cars from brands that died. They're actually the next addition to that list of brands...

Actually they don't want to buy your Saturn - they just want to take $250.00 off as enticement to buy one of their new cars. Like asking you if you are a school teacher or a veteran or just graduated from college.

Is Mitsubishi going under? - I was told they were recently bought by Nissan.
